The magical world of Volunteering!
Hi there,
I have commenced active volunteering for some NGOs in Chennai. A micro finance NGO based in Chennai (check out http://www.rangde.org/) has started using my copy writing abilities. Rang De is run by a vibrant team headed by Ram & Smita. Based on my interactions with the committed team at Rang De, I am sure they would go places.
Last week, as part of an organization named Ivolunteer, I got a rare opportunity to spend time with the inmates of a kids' home in Chennai. What an eye-opening experience it had been!
Please check out the link below to know about how we volunteers felt about the experience.

Few words about Volunteering:
I have started believing that volunteering owes a thorough and serious thought, from each of us. It is about doing things that we love doing. It is all about giving our best when we are not being recognized (in monetary terms or otherwise). I would brand volunteering as a litmus test of one's character. It is all about "How much of my best efforts can come by when I knock off self-centric returns out of an engagement".
Frankly, volunteering can tell you how much one loves being involved in anything; regardless of being recognized for it? Having gone through some truly exciting volunteering-opportunities, I suggest budding-entrepreneurs to try volunteering. It would tell them how ready they are.
Try it out and tell me how it felt. Else, let me know if you want to know of such opportunities.
Luv,
Vijay
